چکیده

Realizing this, GE Healthcare has developed a powerful class of new reconstruction techniques designed to explicitly include the modeling of data statistics into the reconstruction. ASiR,* introduced in 2008, fi rst demonstrated the potential of advanced statistical algorithms. In 2011, Veo*§ builds upon the foundation laid by ASiR by now including accurate modeling of X-ray physics and system optics. This robust, full model-based iterative reconstruction was designed from the ground up to enable improved image quality and to enhance imaging performance even under very low mA scenarios. Veo may enable diagnostic images at lower dose levels.**

Fast System Matrix Calculation in CT Iterative Reconstruction

Introduction: Iterative reconstruction techniques provide better image quality and have the potential for reconstructions with lower imaging dose than classical methods in computed tomography (CT). However, the computational speed is major concern for these iterative techniques. The system matrix calculation during the forward- and back projection is one of the most time- cons...

Projected non-stationary simultaneous iterative methods

In this paper, we study Projected non-stationary Simultaneous It-erative Reconstruction Techniques (P-SIRT). Based on algorithmic op-erators, convergence result are adjusted with Opial’s Theorem. The advantages of P-SIRT are demonstrated on examples taken from to-mographic imaging.

A model based, anatomy dependent method for ultra-fast creation of primary SPECT projections

Introduction: Monte Carlo (MC) is the most common method for simulating virtual SPECT projections. It is useful for optimizing procedures, evaluating correction algorithms and more recently image reconstruction as a forward projector in iterative algorithms; however, the main drawback of MC is its long run time. We introduced a model based method considering the eff...

Impact of model-based iterative reconstruction on image quality of contrast-enhanced neck CT.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Improved image quality is clinically desired for contrast-enhanced CT of the neck. We compared 30% adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction and model-based iterative reconstruction algorithms for the assessment of image quality of contrast-enhanced CT of the neck. MATERIALS AND METHODS Neck contrast-enhanced CT data from 64 consecutive patients were reconstructed r...

Assessment of simulated patient motion and its effect on myocardial perfusion SPECT using two reconstruction methods (Filtered Backprojection;FBP and Iterative method) [Persian]

Introduction: Motion of the patient during myocardial perfusion SPECT could potentially results in false perfusion defects. The effect of different reconstruction methods on these artifacts is not studied. Clarification of the relation between the extent, severity and duration of motion with the resultant artifacts may be helpful in designing special soft wares for motion correction. This...
